If you have tall glass jars in your kitchen, you can instantly convert them into holiday-themed decorations! Just add white sugar or flour to the bottom of the jar, then top with model village houses, trees, and accessories. Tie a pretty decoration around the rim, and you’ve now got a beautiful glass jar snow globe for your home.
Holiday Lanterns
Decorative lanterns are an ideal year-round décor item. Get yours ready for the holidays by filling them with strings of lights or shiny ornaments. Put a bright ribbon at the top for even more holiday ambiance. You can use different sizes of lanterns for a dramatic effect. You can also group some of the string light lanterns in a fireplace for quick mood lighting or arrange lanterns filled with ornaments near an entryway.
Gingerbread House Advent
For an inventive approach to count down the days to Christmas, try creating a gingerbread house advent for your shelf or mantel. You can buy or build simple little wooden or cardboard houses and then paint them to look like gingerbread. Or, if you’re really determined, make them out of real gingerbread!
